At Path of Hope Rescue we strive to decrease the euthanasia rate of high risk dogs in the southern United States by transporting pregnant dogs and puppies to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive homes. We are 100% foster based and rely on volunteers and fosters to help in our mission.

The overpopulation of dogs in Texas is extreme. Because of a culture that does not value spay and neuter, there are simply too many dogs. And because of this, dogs are being euthanized merely for their existence. Shelters are forced to choose which dog to kill and which to save on a daily basis. There are an estimated 700,000 stray dogs just in the city of Houston alone. Dogs on the streets, dogs in shelters, dogs living on chains, dogs everywhere. Pregnant dogs and puppies are often euthanized because of the amount of resources they require or even more often, pregnant moms are spayed, aborting the puppies.

Path of Hope Rescue believes that these dogs deserve a chance at life.

We love Path of Hope! 💜 We didn’t only adopt once, we found 2 furry family members through them. Pepper and Thor were rescued and then placed with us after we filled out an application, had a ‘Meet and Greet’ with the foster parent and then an ‘In Home Trial’. They were fully vaccinated and spayed/neutered. PHR makes sure everyone is a perfect fit as a furever family.

They truly took the time and steps to make sure that Sif (formerly known as Blizzard) was being placed in a good home with responsible owners. I know $500 can seem like a steep adoption price but that includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, helping an awesome organization, and helping future dogs and puppies in need of help. I wouldn't give up my little terror for anything.

Truly the most amazing group of people to work with 😍. Everyone is so kind, passionate, and eager to find the perfect match for their doggies. Going through path of hope was the best choice I have ever made. Their process is a bit longer than most other places but it’s a process I truly respect because they have amazing outcomes. From the application to the matchmaker phone call to my meet and greet and in home trial I had sooo much support and all my questions answered.
